Buried

Buried

In this film you have Ryan Reynolds playing a contractor working in Iraq. After a group of Iraqis attacks him, he finds himself in a coffin with nothing but a cell phone and a lighter. He must somehow find out where he is and let someone know before his phone goes dead and before he runs out of air.

Okay, that’s just a quick little description of the movie. This movie really has me conflicted. On the one hand, from the looks of it the entire movie takes place in a coffin which just sounds like it could get very boring fast. On the other hand, Ryan Reynolds is a very talented actor and what he brings to the table may just be enough to make this movie good.

Of course thinking back on it there has been a lot of movies shot in a single location. The first ‘Saw’ movie for example was mainly shot in a single room, ‘Phone Booth’ starring Colin Farrell, ’Speed’ starring Keanu Reeves,  a bunch of airplane movies, and a lot of other movies that I’m leaving out. So I could be wrong about this movie. The trailers don’t look half bad but I’m thinking once you get past the ‘he’s in a coffin, coffin is a eerie thing to be trapped in, I bet that’s very clausterphobic’ part of the movie… then there’s not much else you’d want to watch.

That being said, I wouldn’t be suprised at all if this turned out to be an awesome movie. Ryan Reynolds is an amazing actor, there hasn’t been a movie I’ve seen of his that I didn’t enjoy. So yea, I’m definetely going to see this movie when it comes out to DVD but I’m probably not going to see this one in theater.
