Gilligans Island… Movie?

by admin on March 3, 2010

Gilligan's IslandIt seems a movie has been talked about for ages but it never really has been a reality until Warner Bros. and Atlas Entertainment had decided it was time to make a movie rendition of the famous show Gilligan’s Island. The movie is currently having its script wrote out by Brad Copeland, the same guy that wrote a bunch of the episodes of Grounded For Life, My Name is Earl, Arrested Development, the movie Wild Hogs, and he wrote the script for the upcoming movie ‘Yogi Bear’. This iconic show only ran on CBS for 4 seasons but it has been in syndidcation for over 40 years. In the show of 98 episodes the cast never got off of the island. Later they made a movie where they get off of the island but to celebrate this they go on another tour and get stuck on the island… probably not the best decision ever made. I think this goes without saying but I’m going to go ahead and mention the cast of the crew: Gilligan, the skipper too, a millionaire and his wife, the movie star, Professor and Mary Ann. Sherwood Shwartz (executive producer) mentioned Michael Cera as the lead role of Gilligan. As of the rest of the cast, its a complete mystery as of now. As a big fan of the show I hope they will be able to pull this off and make a great adaptation of the show. I could definetely see Michael Cera as a good Gilligan but it isn’t definite right now if he is going to do it or not, only time will tell if this is going to be a great movie of a classic story or a flop that no one will watch twice. Below is a theme song opening I found and below that is the theme song performed by Bowling for Soup.
