Independence Day Trilogy
It’s been a while since I’ve seen ‘Independance Day’ starring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum. I still remember the jist of it, aliens come to exterminate Jeff develops a virus for the alien computers, Will and Jeff fly to space to deliver the virus destroying all their ships. Thats pretty much the whole movie in a nutshell with the exception of the love interest between Will’s character (Steven) and his fiance. Plus Randy Quaid shows us another role where he plays a crazy guy.
Okay fast forward to today, they pretty much wrapped things up in the last movie so where does that leave us with the trilogy? Well good question, a script has been written but sadly there doesn’t seem to be any details on what actual happens in it… sorry.
It seems that 20th Century Fox has been talking about the sequal for a long time but haven’t been able to pull it off because of not being able to afford their lead actor Will Smith. All this talk could possibly just be a rumor, when Will’s representative was asked about it he replied “not true at this time” which to me just sounds like Will isn’t really sure what he is going to do.
Whether this is going to happen or not is anyones guess, I could see it as a possibility and if they really play up the trailer then it might be a movie I go see on the big screen.
