Legend of the Guardians
This movie is based on the book series called Guardians of Ga’hoole written by Kathryn Lasky. Directed by Zack Snyder (the guy who directed 300 and Watchmen), this tale is about a barn owl who is kidnapped to St. Aggie’s orphanage. While there he makes an escape plan with some new friends to get away from St. Aggie’s and find the island of Ga’hoole, an island where all the wise owls are. They will make it their mission to find these owls of legend and bring them together to fight the army of wicked rulers of St. Aggies’s. The books are relatively small so the movie is based off of the first three books (The Capture, The Journey, and The Rescue). This movie brings together an impressive collection of voice actors such as, Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Sam Neill, David Wenham, and plenty others. This being a movie about owls, I was skeptical about this movie until I saw the trailer and I have to admit… it looks surprisingly good. Plus the fact that its made by the same people that brought you Happy Feet, so you really can’t go wrong there.
