New Iron Man 2 Trailer
After the Oscars Robert Downy Jr. showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live to reveal a brand new trailer for Iron Man 2. This movie is coming out May 7th and it should be the biggest hit of the year. Directed by Jon Favreau, I just have one word for Jon… “Congratulations” because this movie looks amazing. Movies seem to be making more money then ever with Avatar’s success and now Alice in Wonderland making $120 million. Its easy to imagine this movie doing just as well as the others.
To recap, this movie is about Tony Stark (a.k.a Iron Man… a.k.a Robert Downey Jr.) and he is just as cocky as he was at the beginning of the first movie. Someone gets tired of all the gloating and wants to show Tony Stark that life shouldn’t be so easy. He wants to remind Tony of how his weaponry past has effected so many people in a negative way and you can’t just sweep that under the rug and forget about it. So Ivan Vanko with his alter ego ‘Whiplash’ played by Mickey Rourke comes along and tries to shut Iron Man up for good.
SPOILER ALERT- If you really don’t want to know the entire story of this movie, do not read any more.
While I was writing this article, I was also looking up more information on the movie and I cane across some information (courtesy of imdb.com) about the Iron Man comic lore. I’m not the biggest Iron Man fan when it comes to comic books so I didn’t know the following information (I’m more of a Spider-Man and X-Men fan). I noticed that a man from Iron Man lore named Justin Hammer (played by Sam Rockwell) was in the newest trailer, so I looked up some information on him and based off of what I saw in the trailer, this information looks like that is what they are going for in the movie.
Hammer invented a device called the hypersonic scan transmitter, which allowed him to take control of Iron Man’s armor. He tested this remote control, affecting Iron Man’s unibeam, sealing plates, and boot jets. Angered that he had lost a lucrative bid to Stark International, Hammer took control of Iron Man’s armor and forced him to kill the Carnelian ambassador, and set an army of superhuman criminals against Iron Man. Stark cleared his name and destroyed the control device, but had found a new enemy in Hammer.
The trailer also shows some cool Scarlett Johansson action, playing her character Black Widow (just thought that was worth mentioning before you saw the trailer).

I wasnt so sure of this film for my younger kids – its a little to grown up which is a shame.
