Personal Note

Ronnie James Dio Dies at 67
Ronnie James Dio This isn’t the typical ‘movie’ topic that Critic Approved usually does but I want to talk about this so I’m putting it in the ‘Personal Note’ section. The rock legend Ronnie James Dio has passed away on Sunday, May 16  2010 at  age 67. He has been fighting stomach cancer and there had been rumors of his death but nothing had actually been confirmed until
Top Ten Movies for 2010: Part 3
Top TenThis is the third update on this ever changing list. This list only includes movies that are not out in theaters yet. This list is entirely made up from my own opinion and is no way telling you that one movie is absolutely better then the other. This is just my personal top ten list of movies I am most excited about seeing. Granted I may leave some movies out simply because I’ve forgotten about them or possibly…

Watched Planet 51
Planet 51Dwayne Johnson, you slick actor you. First you come out with an awesome movie like ‘The Rundown’, then release crap like ‘Escape to Witch Moutain’ and now you’ve done another 180 with this not-so-bad ‘Planet 51′. I may be coming from a biast point of view since I love Dreamworks, Pixar, and pretty much any animated movies but this movie was actually pretty good. The only real problem with the movie is that evey time…

Watched Clash of the Titans
Clash of the TitansSo theres a lot of mixed feelings about this movie. The trailer built this movie up to be unbelievably amazing and I just don’t think that it lived up to the hype. Granted it is an awesome movie and I’m really glad I went to see it but if you have really high expectations for this movie then you may be disappointed. There was a lot of cool mythical creatures such as the huge scropion creatures (can’t remember the technical name for them)…

Critic Approved Mission Statement
Personal NoteThis post is just to let all of you readers know just what the current goal and what the future holds for this site.Present
As of right now this site gives you box office release dates, reviews,  trailers on upcoming movies, the release dates on DVD and Blue-ray movies. News on movies and actors, however I really don’t dish out the news as much as I should and I will try and work on that a little better. You can buy or pre-order DVDs or Blue-rays from the release date lists.  See box office charts and…

Swagbucks Explanation
SwagbucksI’ve mentioned Swagbucks before but here is a brief explanation of what it is. First you sign up by clicking on the banner on the right side of the screen, no credit card needed and only takes a minute to do. Then make Swagbucks your homepage (or at least its my home page for convenience). Now whenever you search for anything on the Swagbucks page you have the chance of winning Swagbucks, I typically win anywhere between 30 to 70 Swagbucks a day.

Watched Law Abiding Citizen
Law Abiding CitizenI’m sure that from the title of this article that  you’ve already figured out that I just watched ‘Law Abiding Citizen’. What the title doesn’t tell you is that I had no idea how good this movie was going to be. Granted I am fully aware that Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx can act very well but I didn’t realize how well this story would be put together. I’m sorry for anyone who hasn’t already seen the movie because there might be a spoiler ahead…

Swagbucks Suggestion
SwagbucksSwagbucks is a search engine sponsored by Google and every now and then while your searching for whatever, you will earn a curtain number of Swagbucks. You can then trade in those Swagbucks for prizes such as a $5 or $25 Amazon gift card. Its absolutely free to sign up, no credit card is ever need, they will probably need your address information so they know where to mail your prizes but I’m thinking that is about all they’ll need.

Lightning Thief, Legendary or Disappointment
The Lightning ThiefAfter personally watching The Lightning Thief in theaters I would have to say that I was let down by the story line. There were a couple key elements that they chose to leave out of the movie that cheapened it. For instance, the creators chose to leave out the feud between Ares (the god of war) and Percy Jackson, in the book there is an epic sword battle between the two of them….

On A More Personal Note
Personal NoteSo this is my first post in the “Personal Note” chapter. I needed to write an article on the upcoming move Marmaduke but then I thought ‘Why don’t I write about something a little more interesting’ because Marmaduke looks pretty boring. So I’m putting that off until tomorrow, so for now I decided to add a new section to the website that talks about stuff a little more personal to me. I’m going to start…
