The Roomate Review
I think this type of movie plot has been extremely overdone in Hollywood. You know the plot I’m referring to, the one that has the best friend who takes their friendship to an ‘unhealthy’ level and becomes obsessed. Then the friend start harassing / killing all the other friends to keep them away. Yea, it’s been done, everyone has seen it… let’s try to make a more original plot.
One thing I do have to admit that seems to set this movie apart is that the crazy best friend does do a good job taking it above and beyond what most of the predecessors have done. The trailer shows off some of this and it left me thinking that this girl definitely wasn’t hugged enough as a child.
Synopsis by 247newsonline.net!
A college freshman, Sara (Minka Kelly), is randomly assigned to a dorm with a stranger named Rebecca (Leighton Meester). They start off as friends, but things turn deadly as Rebecca begins to target people in Sara’s life. In her first week at college, Sara befriends the funny, outgoing Tracy Morgan (Aly Michalka). Rebecca quickly notices their new found friendship, and becomes extremely jealous. One night, Tracy invites Sara and Rebecca to a sophomore party. Rebecca informs them that she cannot go so Tracy and Sara decide that they won’t go at all. when Rebecca leaves the dorm, Tracy and Sara sneak out and go to the party. At the party, Sara meets the drummer of the band playing there, Michael (Cam Gigandet), and the two swap numbers. Once Tracy and Sara return from the party, Tracy finds Rebecca in her dorm with a bunch of empty prescription bottles on the floor. The next day, Tracy tells Sara what happened and warns her about Rebecca. Thing get even more suspicious when Sara finds out that she is Rebecca’s only friend on a social networking site.
Check out the trailer below, if the trailer looks good to you then you might want to check it out when it comes out to DVD but I would say for everyone out there… this movie isn’t going to be worth seeing in theaters (if it even is released in theaters), save your money.
