Top Ten Movies for 2010: Part 3
This is the third update on this ever changing list. This list only includes movies that are not out in theaters yet. This list is entirely made up from my own opinion and is no way telling you that one movie is absolutely better then the other. This is just my personal top ten list of movies I am most excited about seeing. Granted I may leave some movies out simply because I’ve forgotten about them or possibly I’m just not that psyched about the movie at the time I’m writting this post.
- The Last Airbender- The number one pick is a hard choice, I was struggling between two different movies for the number one spot but really it is probably tied with my number two pick. I love the show that this movie is based off of (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and by the looks of the trailer M. Night Shyamalan has captured the essence of the show very well.
- Toy Story 3- I grew up watching the Toy Storys and other Disney movies. The trailer really hasn’t disappointed me at all, so far it looks just what I think a Toy Story installment should look like.
- Legend of the Guardians- This is another hard call, it was tough to pick between this movie and my number five pick. I never read the books that this movie is based off of but this movie is made by the same people that brought you Happy Feet, the animation looks amazing. Its definetely not your typical movie, theres something that sets this one apart from most. Its hard to be at least curious by this one.
- The Other Guys- The only reason this movie beat my number seven spot is because this one has Will Ferrell in it. If he wasn’t in it the Sorcerer’s Apprentice would of easily won it. Its hard to describe what its like to be a Will Ferrell fan, you know he’s stupid but for some reason thats funny… its weird.
- Sorcerer’s Apprentice – Fantasy is one of my favorite genres, a story where an average person ends up having powers and talent beyond imagine. Plus its another movie with Nicolas Cage and the man has a lot of talent at what he does.
- Dinner for Schmucks- Starring Steve Carell and Paul Rudd… do I really need to say more?
- The Expendables- Having so much talent built into one movie, it’s hard to overlook this action movie. Written, directed, and starring Sylvester Stallone along with actors such as Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenenegger, and more. It promises to be one of the best action movies of the year.
- Shrek Forever After - (a.k.a. ’Shrek: The Last Chapter’) The last Shrek movie was so horrible, my brain hasn’t even bothered remembering what happens in it. All I remember is Shrek walking down the road following Arthur (Justin Timberlake’s character), saying stuff like “If your hip to this groove that im dishing out then dogg I’ll stay fly and keep it real to your mad skills” or something like that. This next movie however shows a lot of promise and looks infinitely better then Shrek the Third, I have high hopes that this final installment will restore my faith in the Shrek franchise.
- Despicable Me- This is another one with Steve Carell, he plays the voice of Gru the main character. Plus I tend to like the average animated movie and this one looks especially interesting.
- Knight and Day/Killers- Couldn’t decide with my number ten spot, both of these movies are similar and both have excellent actors. Both Tom Cruise (Knight and Day) and Ashton Kutcher (Killers) play some sort of government agent. Both of these movies also have plenty of action with a touch of comedy so, I might see both of these or only just one… it just depends.
